Akai Masa

Akai Masa is a solo project from world-renowned percussionist, Taku Hirano. Hirano tours the world with artists like Fleetwood Mac, John Mayer, and LeAnn Rimes. He’s laid down hip-hop beats for Dr. Dre, and appearing on stage with Willie Nelson and Beyonce.  When he’s not on the road, he’s translating science into ambient soundscapes for functional music applications.

A visionary in the realm of ambient instrumental music, his Akai Masa tracks are guided by a science-backed approach and stylistic finesse, his compositions serve as a melodic sanctuary for relaxation, sleep, and meditation. 


The sonic tapestries of his Akai Masa releases are a testament to the transformative power of music.
